Super Pro
Many, non-regular ESTA racers made the trek to the Cicero Slab to honor Tommy and Joi Ingalls and one of those went home with the top prize and that belonged to Jim Petrecky from out east. Jim squared off against Bill Balser and took home the win with an outstanding .004 package. Jim gave chase to Bill who dialed up a 5.71 and got his run started with a .050 light, but Jim's perfect .000 light pushed Bill into a breakout, 5.708 at 119.72 mph pass. Jim put a 4.93 dial-in and streaked to a winning 4.934 at 129.90 mph to seal the win.
Semifinals saw Joey Rolfe miss a .004 package of his own, but went -.006 red and fell to Jim's 4.934, on a 4.93 dial-in. Bill had the solo pass to set the stage for the Ingalls Memorial final.

Pro
Nick Carr navigated through six rounds of Pro E.T. landmines and scored the win when Bill Robson bulbed out with a -.044 foul start. Bill dialed in at a 6.61 and ran it out to a -.065-under, 6.545 at 102.65 mph for the runner-up effort. Nick dialed his Firebird in at a 6.56 and drove to a .040-initiated, 6.552 at 104.920 mph to lock in the hard fought win.
In semifinal action, Nick squared off against Chris Corlyon who held a slim, .032 to .034 reaction lead, but lost a super-close finish when Nick drove to a .005-over, 6.565 to advance to the final. Chris ran a solid 6.174 on his 6.16 dial-in. Bill drew the bye run into the final round.

Pro MX
Kevin Wuest scored his second straight Pro MX win in a double breakout final against Ryan Orizino. Kevin held a massive reaction time advantage, .013 to .102 and drove to a winning, 5.875 at 113.63 mph on his 5.92 dial-in. Ryan dialed in a tenth quicker at 5.82, but had too much ground to gain back and broke out with a 5.760 at 112.77 mph and had to settle for the runner-up finish.
In the semifinals, Ryan paired up against Kevin Sutliffe and advanced to the final when Kevin slipped into the red zone with a -.006 foul start. Kevin had the solo run and used every inch of that to set up his final round run. Kevin cut a .012 light and drove to a 5.925 on his 5.92 dial-in to prep for the final.

Street Money
It's like the Bill Murray movie Groundhog's Day with Rick Vose standing on top of the Street Money heap after Grant Johnson's -.018 foul start padded Rick's point lead to a 9 round cushion with only 2 weeks remaining. Grant really has his '74 Pontiac dialed in as well and ran a -.006 -under, 10.354 at 63.53 mph on his 10.36 dial-in, but the red bulbed ended any chance of a white time slip. Rick drove to a -.006-under pass as well, 7.374 at 92.26 mph on his 7.38 dial, but it was all a done deal on the line.
In the first semifinal match, Rick overcame a .031 to .065 reaction deficit Bill Coon, and drove to a dead-on, 7.380 to advance to the final. In the second pair, Grant advanced when Branden Wilson dipped under his 7.77 dial-in with a 7.748 after giving up a .056 to .094 R.T. advantage.

Modified
In her first crack back into the bracket elimination battles, the former Jr. Dragster pilot Taylor Tucker (Duell) scored the Modified win over reigning champion Dave Miller. Taylor spent the previous month getting her Camaro dialed in and getting used to leaving off a transbrake and it paid off. Taylor dialed in at a 6.79 and got the jump with a .021 reaction time and drove to the win with a 6.803 at 97.74 mph to seal the win. Dave hit the tree a bit late with a .112 reaction and drove his '84 S-10 to a 6.417 at 105.76 mph on his 6.40 dial-in.
In the semis, Dave gave up a slight R.T. advantage to Dan Hanley, .110 to .106, but his dead-on, 6.410 moved him forward to meet Taylor who had the solo pass. Taylor's worst light was a .033 in the opening time trial round.

Street Trophy
Grant Johnson recovered from his September 14 runner-up finish and sealed the deal with his win over Tim Patterson in Sunday's Street Trophy final. Grant held a .033 to .048 reaction time advantage and held that lead to the finishline with a winning, 10.374 at 63.79 mph pass on his 10.34 dial-in. Tim dipped under his 8.75 dial-in running a too-quick, 8.689 at 73.54 mph and had to settle for the runner-up finish.
In the semis, Tim held a massive, .079 to .319 reaction advantage over Pat Minogue and was able to scrub off nearly .300 E.T. and still advance. In the second pairing, Grant advanced when Bill Coon cut a heart-breaking -.006 red light, but Grant still drilled the tree with a .018 light.

Junior Dragster A
It was the special NHRA Junior Dragster Challenge event with Wally trophies up for grabs in 3 classes. In the Junior A squad, LVD regular Mason Spinelli won both ends of the track against Bailee Halsey to score his first of two wins on the day. Mason held a .022 to .075 R.T. lead, then drove to a winning, 7.980 at 75.78 mph on his 7.95 dial-in. Miss Bailee dialed in at a 9.77 and drove to a 9.810 at 64.33 mph for the runner-up honors.
In the semis, Bailee and Aaron Frankovic had an outstanding, double breakout duel with Bailee getting the nod on the strength of her .007 to .024 reaction advantage. In the other match, Mason's reaction time lead pushed Brody Halsey into a -.004 under breakout pass to advance to the finals.

Junior Dragster B
In the Junior B division, Waylon Stanimer got the .116 to .175 jump over Sal Musolino and parlayed that into the win for the Junior B Wally. Waylon dialed his '24 Halfscale dragster in at a 16.90 and drove to a winning, 17.656 at 25.97 mph. Salvatore dialed his '07 Halfscale in at a quicker 14.19, but wasn't able to overcome Waylon's lead and drove to a 14.974 at 40.89 mph for the runner-up finish.
In the semis, Vincenzo Musolino fouled out against little brother Sal to set the stage for the Junior B final.

Junior Dragster Combined
The Combined feature saw Mason Spinelli win his second final of the day when he stopped Vincenzo Musolino with a holeshot win. "Cenzo was .004 closer to his dial-in, but gave up too much advantage to Mason on the line, .113 to .260. Mason drove to a 8.034 at 73.29 mph on his 7.94 dial-in to secure the win. "Cenzo dialed in at a 12.28 and drove to a 12.370 at 51.78 mph and had to settle for the runner-up finish.
In the semis, it was the brothers Musolino squaring off and Sal gave up a massive reaction lead when he blasted out of his 14.51 dial-in, handing "Cenzo the win. The other pair saw Mason stop Brody Halsey in a very close match where both racers drove excellent passes.
