Summit E.T. Racing Series - June 19th

619main

What a season so far, here it is June 19th and we are just completing our 2nd Summit ET Series points race and the first one to run ¼ mile due to all of the wet Spring weather. Hopefully now that summer starts June 21st we can get into a dry pattern and get some racing action in. Anyways today we hosted the Vivian’s Vision for a Cure Jr. Dragster race as well as the rescheduled Street Showdown, we had great weather and here are the results.

In the Vivian’s Vision Jr. Event it was Jake Lipke wheeling his Jr. Hot Rod to the win when he stopped Kimberly Klein in the final round. Both were dialed in at 7.90 and Jake was able to get a slight reaction time advantage .558 to .580 and he ran 7.933 at 81.64 mph for the win. Kim was right there as he settled for the runner up spot with a 7.946 at 81.37 mph effort. Shannon Harrison and Jake’s sister Jenna were the semifinalists.

Vivian's race included all Jr. A & B racers, 25 in total who wished to take a shot at the $500 Savings Bond and large first place trophy. Racers had one time trial to qualify for the elimination ladder and Kimberly Klein grabbed the number 1 qualifying spot with her five-0 reation time. Other awards presented to first round racers were: Best Reaction time awarded to Chelsey Hancock for her .525 light; and Best Package awarded to Shannon Harrison (details to follow). Hmm, the girls kicked the guy's butt in the special awards department!

Summit E.T. Racing Series - May 29

5-29 Musolino Win

Liz West Scores CMF Challenge Win

What a miserable Spring we have had so far. Who would imagine that it would take us until the end of May to get our 2011 Summit E.T. Points Series underway. But although the place was still in a very wet condition we were able to pull off our opener 1/8 mile style and at least get some racing in.

Super Pro
Vince Musolino
brought out his new 2011 American Dragster and secured the win by defeating Ken Miller who was driving his '72 Ford Maverick. Vince who also stopped Ken in the first round (Ken bought back in) drove his Ricelli Enterprise backed mount to a stellar .505 initiated, 4.685 at 138.13 mph on his 4.68 dial to leave no room for Miller to hold him off. Ken settled for the runner up spot with a .525 light and a 6.962 at 98.04 mph run on his 6.95 dial. James Smith was the semifinalist.
