Summit E.T. Racing Series - August 18

Ron Klein Jr. Captures Jr. Dragster Challenge Title

August 18 Jr. Dragster Winners

August 18 - We held our annual Jr. Dragster Challenge event today which saw an increased entry total as Jr. Dragster drivers from around the State converged to take their shot at the Challenge title. In the end it was ESTA regular and current points leader Ron Klein Jr. taking the win over fellow ESTA driver Dunham Hall. It was over at the start as Dunham lit the red light as both drivers were dialed in at 7.90. Ron would have been tough to beat as he nailed the tree with an awesome .511 light. Both drivers broke out, but Ronnie was closer to his 7.90 dial with a 7.888 at 83.20 mph pass, while Dunham dove deeper on his dial with a 7.843 at 84.92 mph run. Nine year old Natalia Musolino did herself proud by hanging in there with mostly older kids finishing as the semifinalist.

ESTA TRACK E.T. RECORD RESET

Frigon Resets ESTA E.T. Record

Frigon Racing Does it Again

August 11 - It was supposed to be just a mundane day of testing for the Frigon Racing, Competition Wedge Engines sponsored Spitzer PTO dragster. With a bunch of off season changes, the team showed up Sunday, August 11th to do some 1/8th mile testing for their Pro Top Outlaw series and Asphalt Wars racing. After making a warm up run, the team then tested ESTA's new 330' concrete pad and the results proved favorable. Without making a single change to the car's setup, the team made two blistering 3.81 passes in a row with almost exact 190 mph speeds each pass.

Rumor has it that car sponsor, Competition Wedge Engines' Todd Tuohey "may have" had a hand in the decision to stretch it out more than 660'. After a brief team rally, car owner Bob Frigon decided to make a 1000' blast and see what it would hold. The decision was made for 1000 ft. apparently as it was still a whole new combination and they haven't "stepped on it" yet, as they say.

Doss Bags First Super Pro Win

August 11 - The 2013 Summit Racing E.T. Series resumed on Sunday under great racing conditions. Steve Doss broke into the Super Pro win column in his newly-acquired dragster when James Smith broke out in his '70 Nova. Peter DeSalvo finally shook the Street Money bridesmaid curse and ran right on his dial-in to score the win over last week's winner Tyler Bedell.

Steve Doss - Super Pro

Super Pro
Steve Doss
who has been going rounds at every race scored his first Super Pro win by driving his ’98 Cressman dragster to the final round win by stopping James Smith Sr. who was in his familiar “Boss Man” ’70 Nova. James held the staring line advantage .530 to .552, but took too much stripe and broke out with a 9.129 at 145.14 mph run on his 9.14 dial while Steve ran 7.615 at 173.59 mph on his 7.60 dial for the win. Tom Belvick and Mark Leo were the semifinalists.
