July 3, 2011 - The 4th of July racing weekend for all of us will always be a tough one because one year ago we lost Chad Wilcox who was fatally injured while making a time run on his high powered snowmobile. We held a special tribute to Chad before we got underway with the racing action and there probably was not a dry eye in the place. Randy SinClair from the RFC gave a heartfelt invocation which was followed by Chrissy Klein making a slow tribute run on her Polaris snowmobile in the same lane that Chad made his last run. After the tribute we got underway, here is the recap.

Steve Doss drove his familiar '85 Monte Carlo to yet another big Pro win today by outlasting a stellar field of competitors and defeating Gene Stankivitz III who was making his first appearance of the year driving his '81 Malibu Wagon. Steve drilled the tree in the final with a stellar .505 and ran a 9.602 at 143.01 mph on his 9.58 dial in. Gene had a very good .532 r.t., but ran under his 10.53 dial in with a 10.457 at 125 29 mph while trying to hold back Steve. Mike LaRose was stopped by Doss in the semifinals.
