If you want to run slicks, then pro, modified, or super pro would be the classes. If you don't have a crossover and a delay box, then pro would be your best bet and it sounds like your car would fit well there

As far as the weekly bracket series, what classes you can race race will be determined by the type of electronics in the car. Based on it being a street car, and being new to the sport, I would think street trophy or street money would be a good place to start. In regards to getting the car checked out, I bet there is a racer who is close to you that would look it over and let you know anything you might need to pass tech. Where are you located?
It may be easier to get questions answered over the phone, so feel free to call. 315-488-0860.
It would be great to see your car out at the track, the racers/staff at Esta really are a great group. Come out and have some fun

That is correct, the G body ones are in the rear. You have to move the spring mounts like you would on an A body swap as well. With the A body rears going for much more money and the 8.5 G bodies rear costing an arm and a leg these days, it is a rear you can make work on a budget if you can do some welding. Not a bolt in deal, but it would give you a better IC than an 8.8 fox swap in a g body

Just trying to increase your sales market!!!

Adam,
It will fit a G body with the upper swap arms like the ones you would use on the 64-72 A body rear when you put them in a G body. They are a whole bunch wider than a stock G body rear, so you would need to narrow it.

Hate asking but how does this race work. If I run under 11.5 I lose?
You know I will always throw in for a sponsor

Yes
Heads up leave on a pro tree. First car to the finish line without going faster than 11.50 wins

They are fun. It is a blast to hit a pro tree and mix the racing format up once in a while. I think you need the .500 light for us footbreakers. The last 10.50 was a .400 and it made it tough if you didn't have a brake. When it went to .500 for the 11.50 I felt it leveled the field.

I have never had or even used a trans brake so I have no opinion either way on the delay box. If it is needed to not go red on the .500 pro tree, then people should certainly be allowed to use it.

This sounds like it's going to be a great race. Any thoughts on lowering the ET below 11.5?
Might attract some of the more "interesting" street cars.

This was already discussed and the cutoff is staying at 11.50
If we end up going 1/8 mile, I believe that would be a 7.30?

Always enjoy seeing Al at the track and the auction. You couldn't ask for a better family to race with than the Donadio's. Thoughts and condolences go out to Gary and his family.
Sad news (again)

Quicker than 14.00 you will need a snell approved helmet. Not sure where you are located, but maybe you can get a racer to swing buy and give the car a once over from a tech inspection stand point. It might save you from having any tech issues when you get to the track

We have all been the New guy and made mistakes. Don't worry about it. The important part is that hopefully you will enjoy it and keep racing. My advice would be after you get your car tech inspected....spend some time in the staging lane area. Watch the process as other cars go through it. It will help you know where to stage, when to pull in the burnout box, when to start your burnout etc. Dont be afraid to ask questions to your fellow racers. Everyone is happy to help out someone new to the track.
