Anything in the works for big cars? I think that day is a scheduled T&T at this point.

With all the rain we've gotten today, what are the odds we race tomorrow? Only supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow.

Is that confirmed or just rumor at this point?

You? Opinionated Jeff? NoOoOOoOoooooo . . .

I like the two drops idea. I think I've missed two races this year, so that would help me a bunch. Occasionally we all miss weeks, whether it be for a family thing or work thing.

I do think the points fund could work. I think Empire and Skyview both do it and probably others, but I don't go anywhere else enough to know. I'll throw up a Facebook poll. . .

Brett does have a point with the paid points fund. A lot of other tracks do this I think. If it's guaranteed to go toward the points payout, that would actually work out pretty well. Let's say you get 20 drivers in Super Pro to pay $30 to run for points. There's $600 toward the year end pot. Put most of it toward first place and you could easily pay out $1500 to win Super Pro, which makes it a little more enticing. There are always more drivers in Pro, so they could really bump up their year end pot too.

The pit space money is supposed to go toward pit improvements, though, so that should continue to do so.

I would definitely be interested in more big money races in our back yard.

Everyone has their opinions on double points day. It's just another way to make things interesting. It's always better when you win on double points day.

So you're saying to reset the points at the bracket finals cutoff and make it possible for anyone in the top 10 or 12 to win?

Seems like an interesting idea, but it you're #1 and running away with it (say 10 points or more) you'd probably feel a little cheated if you didn't finish strong and ended up in 5th or something.

Another idea could be just to bring back double points days to mix it up.

I think that most people would prefer a shirt that they could wear any time, so if we go too off the wall with the design, it won't be popular.

Here's an idea. . . What if we could design a "rat fink" style mosquito driving a drag car for the front and put it on a ringer style shirt with team esta 2014 on the back? I think that would look pretty good.

If it's not exactly the same, then it's different Vince, reguarless of the degree of difference.

The change was made to 500 pro tree to so that the footbrakers could compete more. They don't have to worry about slowing down on a 500 tree. How much more do we need to do to make this race easier for foot brakers? If you tried it, Vince, I bet you would agree with me.

Either way, whatever the sponsors say should be. I'm just trying to point out what I think is fair and what will draw the most cars.

I'm not saying it's vastly different, just not exactly the same. It might be different for some because it depends on when you hit the throttle. But even if it is, why is that up for debate? It's not like my 500 light is better than a footbraker who has a 500 light.

Yes, it's not exactly the same.

You're certainly entitled to disagree with me, Vince, but I'm just speaking from experience having run this race on a 500 pro tree before.

Sorry Jeff, but I'm not wrong. Here's why. . . .

Cross talk has nothing to do with this because if cross talk was turned off, like running in modified, I would still be leaving off the top bulb with a box. It doesn’t matter when my top bulb comes on, I’m still leaving off the top bulb, so regularly using cross talk makes no difference for a pro tree.

You said that you don’t want to give any racers an advantage, BUT if you take boxes out, the foot brakers have the advantage because, as I said, anyone running off a button is going to have trouble going green on a 500 pro tree. I understand the reasoning for going to a 500 tree because the guys with buttons had an advantage on a 400 tree, but now you’re flipping it the other way around and putting them at a disadvantage. With the box allowed, nobody has an advantage IMO.

Also, Jeff, if you think that going to a pro tree is just another day with a button, it’s not. Many of the guys running boxes don’t hit the gas until they let go of the button, so going off a pro tree, you have to be on the 2-step already when the light comes down. Not a big change obviously, but it’s not your normal routine. I have to consciously remember to do it instead of just going by muscle memory like normal.

As Terry Lee said, he went to two finals off the pedal in these races, so you can’t say that only box cars won it. I won a couple of them, but I also lost to Tom Samsel in the final at the first one of these races and he was running off the pedal (on a .400 tree too).

I do hope this race happens, but like Ryan said, car count will be higher the more cars you allow into this race. Disallowing boxes is just plain silly.

And they all lived happily ever after...

And also this has nothing to do with cross talk.

I don't think there's an advantage Jeff, but it's either that or you won't get as many cars. It was changed to 500 to make everyone happy, so why alienate the box cars now?

No point in outlawing delay boxes, especially if you're trying to get a higher car count. There was a lot of discussion about this when it went from .400 to .500 pro tree. On a .500 pro tree, the faster cars are at a disadvantage to the slower cars because it's easy to red light. You're supposed to be on a hair trigger for a pro tree, not trying to slow your reaction so you don't red light. If delay boxes are allowed on a .500 pro tree, the field is more even because everyone has the chance to have .500 lights. There is no advantage in using a delay box for this race aside from the fact that you are less likely to red light.

I'm definitely in IF there are delay boxes allowed.
