Unfortunately I haven't been able to go to meetings much in the past couple years because I've had a lot of Monday night classes, but I agree that DRAG is a worthwhile thing to do for the drivers to voice their opinions to the track. It's important for the track to know how the drivers feel about things. I can't see it working well as an "at the track" meeting, though, because if things are going on at the track, you'll have a hard time keeping anyone's attention. Plus, Pete is always busy doing something there. I don't really care where we hold the meeting, but just keep in mind that we have members coming from Utica/Rome area too, so let's try not to go out too far west.

Yup. There was talk of taking them out in another discussion/debate for the next time around, but there hasn't been one since then if I remember right.

Here's the last discussion... Looks pretty similar.

My car runs low 10s Jeff, which is not much different than mid 10s.

So I'm not allowed to disagree with the rules or voice my opinion or it's considered whining? I stated that I disagreed and exactly why I disagreed. Sounds like a good debate topic to me, not whining. Were you all over the people who "whined" to get the rules changed the first time?

I still disagree with you that a 10 second car can't hit a 500 light on a pro tree. Zangari, where are you on this buddy?

Ok, Jeff. Not sure why you are charging in here accusing me of crying all the time, but I'll bite and explain further. Here it goes..

Maybe saying "yet another advantage" was not the best way to describe it. Perhaps I should've said "tip the scales" because that's more accurate. My language really doesn't matter because I think you get the point. I could see where people thought the trans brake cars had the advantage on the 400 pro tree, but going to a 500 pro tree eliminated that advantage because now it's just as easy for a foot brake car to get a 500 light. However, for a trans brake car that is easily in the 460s or 480s, it's not easy to go 500 because it's difficult to hesitate on purpose. If it comes to that, I'll do my best with my Biondo button, but it seems like a stupid restriction. If I'm racing a foot brake car who cuts a 500 light, where's my advantage if I also have one? And obviously you've never watched me run an index race because I don't just put a fender on everyone because a lot of other people run under the index too. I had several REALLY close races with foot brake cars in these index races before that I was fortunate enough to win, but it could've just as easily gone the other way.

Again, as I posted before, this is my opinion and you're welcome to disagree as you obviously do, but what how is the track ever to improve without feedback from racers?

BTW, why can't a foot braker go 500 on a pro tree? I bet a good number of our pro drivers can. Besides, if I'm smart, I'm not setting up my box for a 500 light anyway. I'd rather be safe with a 520 or so, so again, where's the advantage aside from ensuring my light is green?

All I'm saying is that if a foot braker can come up with 500 lights then what's the problem with having a box to do the same?

I disagree that it provides an advantage, but that's my opinion. We debated in this before, but I think it's a ton easier to red light off a trans brake than without, so it's nice to put some in the box to stay green. We changed to a 500 tree to even the playing field between box and foot brake, but now we're taking boxes away to give the foot brakers yet another advantage.

Any reason delay boxes are not allowed this time? Last time we did an 11.50 race they were.

Vince, I think a lot of this is for the racers who drive a long way. I bet there are times when it's pouring in cicero, but nice out wherever they are. Plus, those who travel a long way may not be regulars since it IS a long way for them, so they might not know to check the forum or Facebook. I've been getting regular text updates from Empire about their cancellations. I think they use Rainedout.com, which we also talked about several years ago at a DRAG meeting, but it was decided to use Twitter instead.

Yes, we can say that people should be checking the weather and calling the number and blah blah blah, but the point is that the easier you make it for people, the better off you'll be. Not to mention you don't want to give anyone anything new to complain about.

If I remember right, the Twitter feed was linked directly to a scrolling banner at the top of the home page, so if they tweeted something, it would appear right at the top of the Esta website also.

No round money for winner and R/U. That just means that they get the advertised purse, so $2,500 for R/U, but not additional money for round money, like $150 per round. It's basically the same as we do every week except with bigger payouts.

Unfortunately, Vince, from the lack of buybacks with the price raise and uproar about losing the 3rd round money, it seems that the majority of people wanted it the other way. I haven't heard anyone complain about the extra initial entry because we all want to race for more money, but Esta already had the highest buyback in NYS, so at $50 (for super), people were saying no. Personally, I probably would've grumbled and threw down my $50 in hopes of taking home the $1000, but I'm not the only opinion.

$750 for 17-24 cars and $1,000 for 25 for more. We can easily get 25 cars if people spread the word.

Excited about higher payouts for Super Pro. The higher minimum hopefully will really help bring some cars in/back on a regular basis.
