TOPIC: 1981 Camaro. Drag only

1981 Camaro. Drag only 7 years ago #399

The car was built in Cali in 1981 it was an original V8 car.
The car was sold in TX. It spent its whole life in TX. In March 2010 it was brought to Drum. So needless to say there is no rust. Not even surface rust under the car really. IT IS NOT STREET LEGAL. So if that is what you are looking for I am sorry. The front bumper, fenders, grill and everything else have been removed and replaced with a Harwood Front clip that was bought from them in their factory in East TX. The hood and the scoop were purchased from them as well. The car has a custom Paint job. You will either love it or hate it. It really has the 80s look with the orange and white and other colors. I didn't choose it I just let my paint and body guy have fun. The tail lights are smoked, Although they are just for looks. It also has the Master power switch on the outside as per reg. It has very nice alum wheels under it with the 4.5 front runners. You should be able to get about 40+ more races on the back tires (just depends on how you warm them up in your burn out) The interior will need some minor work. It needs the rest of the insulation/ carpet padding removed in a few spots behind the race seat and on the rear fender wells. The Inside is all striped except from the Alum dash with gauges. It has the painless wiring system with all the switches. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. There are two fuel cells, one in the rear for the main feed and one on the front cage for the small polished aluminum for the N2O system that we were going to run. There is a full cage with gussets welded in place. The car has had a SBC, BBC, LSX, TH350, TH400, and a Power glide. I was always looking for more power as does any race car enthusiast. The last set up in the car was a 454 with a turbo.
The car launches straight as an arrow. The rear end will need to be tubbed and 4linked if you are looking to run with the big boys. There is still a little bit of room for a bigger tire in the rear and if you don't mind a tire that sticks out past the fenders then you could go wider. I personally don't like that look. Also has a 10 point cage with halo roll bar, Gforce race seat and harness

The new.
I just put in a reinforced 9inch in the rear with the big 5/8 studs and the 1350 one ton u joints
I just converted the rear to Disc brakes, and went away with the heavy power break system. So there are four new calipers, rotors, pads, and new master cylinder.

The break system is almost finished it just needs to be bleed. I have left out so many things. I have over 10K invested in the car. So who every buys the car will be getting a great deal.

I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and will be returning home in the November time frame.

My wife will be dealing with the sale or anyone who wants to look at the car. But if you are interested or have any questions email me and if you want to look at the car I will have my wife call you to set up a time to come and see the car.

my email is

I am asking $6500 O.B.O
Thanks for looking.
