July 1 - We had another great Sunday for drag racing with plenty of sunshine and a nice breeze that kept the warm temperatures feel not so bad. Today we held our Pro Showdown with the class' top payout on the line. In the final it was Theodore Lewis knocking off last year's Pro Showdown winner Steve Doss in a close, double breakout finale. We also saw Ryan Orizino double up wins in Pro MX and Bike/Sled Trophy classes. 

Super Pro

Super Pro saw Terry Scheirer and James Smith Jr. square off in their Big Block Chevy powered dragsters for their shot at the cash. In the final Terry laid a perfect .500 reaction time on James carding a 7.876 at 170.37 mph run on his 7.84 dial to defeat James who had a very good .516 light and running 7.722 at 173.17 mph on his 7.70 dial for the runner up spot. Westley Cayea was the semifinalist.

Pro

In Pro it was Theodore Lewis driving his ’82 Firebird to the big win when he stopped last years Showdown winner Steve Doss in his ’85 Monte Carlo. Theo got the starting line advantage .532 to .553 and he won the double breakout affair with a 10.505 at 128.55 mph run on his 10.51 while Steve was further under with a 10.125 at 133.89 mph run on his 10.15 dial in. Anthony Zegarelli and Chuck White were the semifinalists.

Rain Shortens E.T. Series Event

June 24 -  Today we hosted the Pro MX Showdown, which guaranteed $600 to win for the bike and sled riders. We also ran the Vivian’s Vision Race for a Cure Jr. dragster race which pitted both classes of Jr. Dragster racers all racing against each other for the chance of winning. Unfortunately the rains came in the afternoon and we were not able to complete all the final rounds. Here are some of the results.

Vivian's Vision Race for a Cure
In the Vivian’s Vision race it was Jacob Snyder scoring the coveted win in his ’12 Halfscale stopping Ron Klein Jr. who was going for his second time of winning this special race. Jacob put together practically an unbeatable package in the final as he clicked off a great .505 reaction time along with his nearly-perfect 8.003 at 82.10 mph run on is 8.00 dial in. Ron tried to reel him in with his .538 initiated, 7.988 at 82.25 mph run on his 7.95 dial and settled for the runner-up spot. Dunham Hall was the semifinalist.

Jr. Dragster "A"
In Jr. Dragster “A” it was Kimberly Klein taking the win over a red lighting Dunham Hall. Kim had a .548 light and ran a very nice 7.912 at 82.09 mph on her 7.90 dial. Dunham lit the red light with a .468 bulb and wasted his perfect dial in matching 7.950 and settled for the runner up spot. Morgan Bunal was the semifinalist.

Jr. Dragster "B"
Jr. Dragster “B” class racing saw Shane Bingel defeat Gracie Snyder in the money round. Gracie held the reaction time advantage .569 to .593, but Shane ran closer to his dial in with an 11.815 at 51.64 mph on his 11.73 dial. Gracie had to settle for the runner up spot with her 9.012 at 72.57 mph run on her 8.90 dial. Jazmyne Short and Jenna Lipke were the semifinalists.

Pro Rookie Hardman Slays the "Giant"

June 17 - We had another great Sunday for drag racing with plenty of sunshine and a nice breeze that kept the warm temperatures feel not so bad. Here is the rundown of our 6th Summit E.T. Points Series race.

Super Pro
In Super Pro it was Billy Caprara taking the win in his Chevy powered dragster. Billy had a .542 reaction time and ran right on his 7.55 dial in with a 7.552 at 177.14 mph to turn back Jack Vault in his Ford powered dragster. Jack had a .535 r.t., but ran under his 7.49 dial in with an oh-so-close 7.484 at 180.01 mph runner up effort. Vince Musolino lost in the semi’s to Jack.

Pro
Justin Hardman has made the transition from Jr. dragsters to the "big" cars just fine as he scored his first win in Pro today by knocking off many time winner Mike LaRose in the final round. “J Rock” drove his ’95 Camaro to a .525 initiated, 10.501 at 121.64 mph run on his 10.46 dial to stop Mike who drove his ’69 Dart to a runner up .543 r.t. and running under his 10.40 dial in with a 10.392 at 126.00 mph. Skip Zegarelli was the semifinalist.
