Although our Summit E.T. Points Series ended last week we still have a few races we are trying to get in before the season ends. Today we held Box / No Box races for cash as well as an all run Trophy Eliminator and a Jr. Dragster class. Here’s how it went.
In the Box/ No Box Class it came down to Joe Williams in his ’83 Camaro and Theodore Lewis in his ’86 Monte Carlo. In an extremely close final round that was decided by .0041 seconds it was Williams taking home the just over $700 payout. Both drivers were dialed in at 7.75 and Joe had a .506 light and ran 7.733 at 89.97 mph for the win. Theodore was right there with his No Box entry as he had a great .510 r.t. and also broke out with a 7.733 at 88.57 mph settling for the $300 plus runner up cash. Gary Rolfe Jr. and Myles Higby were the semifinalists.
In the All Run Trophy Class it was Chrissy Klein notching another win by riding her Polaris drag sled, stopping Myles Higby who was driving his ’69 Dodge Dart. Chrissy held the reaction time advantage .593 to .630 and that was enough as she won it with a 6.754 at 95.53 mph run on her 6.70 dial in. Myles, who was very busy because he was running both classes had to settle for the runner up spot with a breakout 7.227 at 90.37 mph run on his 7.24 dial in. Steve English and Danny Dunn were the semifinalists.
Not to be outdone by mom, Kim Klein wheeled her Jr. Dragster to the win when she defeated Nicole Woodcock who was piloting her brother Hunter’s ride. Kim had a .538 light and ran 7.943 at 81.41 mph run on her 7.95 dial while Nicole had a .602 light and ran 7.879 at 80.31 mph on her 7.90 dial. Shaquille Scott and Dylan Peckham were the semifinalists.
That’s it for today, we are scheduled to run until the end of the month with the same format, weather permitting of course. Take care and we’ll see you at the drags.
