How about a 19.99 second car racing a 10.50 or 10 second car in street. sixty mph versus 130 mph on street tires.

( I agree with you too. But also agree with Jessica's pov. )

Everything should have been left alone...not changed to please a few

On May 4th our winner in the Street Money class will have the opportunity to go to the NHRA Summernationals at Englishtown (May 29 – June 1) to race in a special Street class during Sundays eliminations. The car has to follow NHRA’s Street Legal rules and be legal to be driven on the Street which in our state means Inspected, insured and registered. The car has to be driven to the event not trailered. You can trailer to the motel if you want but you cannot trailer to the track. They will have a special area for you to park at the track. The winner will receive a special “Wally” plaque and have their picture taken with one of NHRA’s professional drivers. This is a really neat deal to showcase the Street class at a National event.

Hi Again 11Sec St...I wish you would put your name here so i know who i'm talking with..( I think everyone should )

First you spoke for me...(the intent of the class)

Now you speak for Vern (his intent) He is the one who opposed the class for two years! ha ha

BTW...I never said I was against a lower St Money read my earlier posts...but St Trophy should definitely be left alone as an entry class.

Oh..if you want it raised to 12 sec...give Pete a call....

Hi "11secstreet" !

My Name is Dick Aversa and I am the "Founding Father" of the Street Money Class. I see you only have 4 posts to your credit so I thought I would give you a little history since I'm not sure who you are and seem to be new here by the number of posts. If I am wrong here ...please do not take it personal.
By founding Father ...I am the one who created STREET MONEY after over TWO YEARS of constant lobbying for it in the early 2000's.
Management at that time was against it and did not want to run a class like that..but I kept after them drew up the proposal and rules and I finally won out for ONE TRIAL RACE ONLY. I was even told if I wanted it so bad....raise my own payout purse and then they would run it.
Obviously the race was a success and with it's success it became one of ESTA's bigger weekly classes.

When I founded this class...the intent was not as you suggested.....for pro cars to be able to have yet another place to double class...but for TRUE STREET CARS to have a second chance to race for something other than a trophy on race day and to encourage participation of new racers at a less than the Pro level. PRO cars had and have the options to run PRO, MODIFIED and SUPER PRO already.

The Class was not 11.50 as it is now it was a 12 second class and EVERYONE in it had to be a true STREET CAR...Licensed, inspected, insured, thru street type muffles and legal Street tires front and rear.
SAME rules that I used when I founded the CMF RACES that I ran for about five years with Bob Belvick.

Prior to this class...there was a STREET CLASS that ran just for trophies and usually commanded close to 30 cars weekly.
These cars were also the ones that represented ESTA at the BRACKETS.

Management has tried various ET minimums in Street Money from 12.00, to 11.50, to any ET, back to 11.50! I'm sure a good part of the logic is... that is what the bracket finals run and it is also the breaking point for the need of a Rollbar. This eliminates a lot of policing by staff and tech crew especially once the race is started.

Many of the Trophy Racers also like the option to double book on a race day and may not be as comfortable or feel competitive running pro cars with street tires on them in a faster ET class and would possibly drop to only running one class. So yes maybe on one side ESTA might gain a few cars and on the other lose some.

BTW when I race I always double book even when I raced my slow poke 17 sec. Equinox. Won a St Money Race with it in 2012.
I just wanted to let you know the intent of why the MONEY Class was formed ( As well as the CMF Race).

I think the rules are in place and we just need to abide by them and have fun racing.

Hi Pete! Thanks for the update!

Is the roll bar rule still 11.50?

Could you also post the 1/8th mile indexs?

Is the Bracket Final for street also changing to the 11.00?

thanks
