Let's total this up for my car:

Gate fee: $15
Entry fee: $ 60
Race Fuel: $50
Truck Fuel: $20
Food/Drink: $10

If I break nothing I've spent $155.........$205 if I buy back.

Unless I get runner up or better I've lost $. I accept that.

The round money brings people back. If you go a couple rounds and walk away with 30/60 or more in your pocket at least you don't feel like you were beating your head against a wall for nothing.

Not sure where the $365 is @.....Empire is paying $1000 to win.

I didn't start this post as a reason to slam the track, it was a simple thank you to let them know I appreciate what they did. I know I'm not the only one who does.

No racer wants to see any track close. But, cutting the lower round payouts surely won't increase car count.

I could care less about $1000 to win in super, yet you don't hear me complaining about paying $60 to enter either as I know the track is trying to do what it can to generate revenue.

I know I'm just a small time guy who can't always make it to the track every week.

If I was truly in this sport to make money I would have quit years ago.

The racers really appreciate it! We all go to win, but most times we don't. It's nice to get a little something back, especially in this economy.

Pete,

Could you post a quick rundown of the rules? I'm trying to spread the word to interested parties but I want to be telling them the correct information. This will be run as a NO time event, right?

Thanks,
Gene

Pete,

Quite a few drivers are confused with the payouts. With round money being eliminated for 2nd round winners, does this mean 3rd round winners will receive the normal payout? IE. 60 to enter super would have meant 110 to a 3rd round winner correct? Or in pro 3rd Round winner would receive 60.

Also, what is the breakdown if <17 cars?

Thanks

Bob Grey's father Robert passed away. He was always there smiling and assisting with the purple flammed Super Pro Chevelle and when Bob wasn't racing he would always be parked along the spectator side fence. Information on services can be seen here: www.maurerfuneralhome.com/m/?p=memorial&id=1513798

Looks like no chance of a ROC repeat in 2015.

You're right about that Bob. This silly smart phone and my fingers don't mix. He would have been listening to the sound of smooth jazz 88 and not super G. (Track announcer).

No matter what new guy, there will always be someone there at the track who will be glad to help. So, no worries. You'll have blast.

2888 - would have been the previous owners car number.

Pro/mod/no box - means your car would be best suited for pro (non electronics ie. No trans brake, delay boxes, air/electric shifters)or modified trophy class

If you have never raced the car before I would suggest running modified, to get your feet wet in the sport of bracket racing.

I would try to make it out to a test and tune early in the year. You will get multiple runs in to get comfortable in the car.

What type of radio do I need?

An FM radio tuned to 88.3 on the dial will do.

I don't believe Ron's post was targeted towards you, so I wouldn't take any offence to them.
