Welcome to the latest version of ESTA Safety Park's website! While the new website doesn't look entirely different from the old, there's plenty of changes that have taken place under the hood!
The new website is built using a Content Management System (CMS). CMS allows the site to be updated from any internet connected computer without the need for expensive software or html or other coding knowledge. What this means to the track is eliminating duplicity and expenses of having the site updated by outside sources. They will be able to write and publish result articles, press releases and news right from their web browser.
A new forum has also been put into place on the new website. We will be ditching the current Staging Lanes message forum for a few reasons. It will eliminate the annoying display ads that Freeforums.org imposes to free subscribers and we'll also have greater control over spam postings and forum trolls.
In order to eliminate the "nameless" flamethrowers who love to rip on the track or other racers, we will be implementing a registration process that requires the registrant's real name and verifiable contact information. Forum rules violations will be easier for moderators to address more efficiently.
For the time being, the old Staging Lanes forum can be accessed here. The old forum will still be available until the transition to the new forum is complete.
Still in the Works:
We are also currently looking into a photo gallery that will allow users to upload their ESTA photos to share with visitors of ESTAdrags.com. Of course there would need be a moderator approval system in place so avoid those "creative" porta-john pics that would definitely find their way into the gallery!
Nearly every ESTA Staging Lanes visitor has made multiple visits to Dick Aversa's nostalgic photo post on this forum. We're working on including a special Vintage section that Dick will be able to update with more detail from home.
